The fishing family Jesenice has officialy been founded in 1953- its predecessor was the Fishermen's cooperation Jesenice which had been founded in 1946. At its beginnings the company counted merely 12 members. But the number grew up to today's count of 103 members. The family owns its own fishing lodge which includes the fishing farm with the capacity of 350.000 specimen of young fish.
The family manages the whole fishing environment of Jesenice which expands from the spring of the Sava Dolinka in Zelenci up to its confluence with the Sava Bohinjka near Radovljica - all tributaries and reservoirs are included in the districts. The only exception is the river Radovna in the area from its spring to the lower barrier of the power plant under the Šum waterfall. The part of the Sava Dolinka from the pebbled barrier in Javornik ( Tavčar's power plant ) to its confluence with the creek Javornik is prohibited for fishing due the natural reservation status.
All the other waters are home to many fish, with the exception of some creeks that have been rendered useless due to drying out.
The fishing waters are mainly home to brown, brook and rainbow trouts in the area from its spring in Zelenci to its confluence with theSava Bohinjka and to graylings and huchens in the area from the hydropower plant Moste to the confluence with the Sava Bohinjka.
