Ščavnica 3

The river Ščavnica

(from Žihlava to the outflow into the river Mura)

Ribiška družina Ljutomer

The river Ščavnica is very rich in cyprinids due to the facts that large number of fish runs from the lake Gajševsko jezero into the Ščavnica when the waters are high - mostly carps, silver carps, roaches, pikes, zanders and others and from the river Mura sometimes - also when the water are high - common nases, vimba vimba fish, common daces and chubs come to the Ščavnica as well. The river is entirely regulated and it isn't very interesting or attractive for fishermen although it is very rich in fish life. The most frequent visitors are fishermen who love to float fish and some who spin fish.
