The river Mirna becomes a typical valley river in this area where it runs through the narrow valley of the Dolenjsko gričevje hills on its way to meet the Sava. Rapids follow pools. This district is mostly salmonid in character with some cyprinids present ( common nase, Danube roach, chub). Brown trouts, rainbow trouts, graylings and huchens have been intensively put in in this district. It is the main district for huchens in the RD Sevnica. Access to the district is excellent everywhere because the local road Trebnje- Sevnica runs along the Mirna.
