The Dravinja

(from the bridge in Loče to the bridge in Makole)

Ribiška družina Slovenska Bistrica

The Dravinja is a river in region Štajerska. It springs in the mountain Pohorje, more accurately southwest from the resort Rogla in altitude of approximately 1200m. Its most important tributary is the Polskava. The Dravinja flows past Zreče, Slovenske Konjice, Poljčane, Makole, Majšperk, Ptujska Gora and Videm.

In its upper part the river is pretty steep but the waters are clear and rich in fish. In its lower part you can fish for cyprinids and predatory fish: fly fishing, spin fishing, ground fishing or float fishing. The pikes tend to live in the lower part of the district.
