On the river Sava around Brežice you can fish for cyprinid species like common nases, carps, chubs, Danube roaches and vimba vimba fish but it is not uncommon to run into some first class specimens of catfish or asps in its depths.
You can access the upper part of the district from the road through Vrbina in direction of the nuclear power plant.
